Dreams are strange things. They can be windows, warnings, or just the mind’s way of sorting through the chaos of daily life. But for Renee Caldwell, dreams are something more—a doorway into a world where the boundaries between life and death, waking and sleeping, are never quite clear.

The Between: The Awakening of Renee Caldwell was born from my own experiences with vivid, unsettling dreams. Some were so real, I woke up breathless and shaken, the images lingering long after sunrise. Others felt like messages—fragments of stories waiting to be told. As I wrote Renee’s journey, I found myself reliving those nights: the sense of being watched, the fear of what might be lurking just out of sight, and the eerie discomfort of knowing I wasn’t alone in the dark.
For Renee, the veil between dreams and reality is thin. Her visions bleed into her waking life, bringing with them lost souls, supernatural threats, and questions that don’t have easy answers. She’s forced to navigate a world where every dream could be a warning—and every nightmare could change her fate.
I believe many of us have experienced moments like this: a dream so vivid it feels like a memory, a nightmare that refuses to fade, or a sense that something is trying to reach us from the other side. These moments inspired not just the plot of The Between, but the emotional heart of the story.
Have you ever had a dream that felt more real than reality? I’d love to hear about it. Share your story in the comments—or, if you’d like a chance for your dream to appear in the next book, use the submission form on the home page. Your dream could help shape the next chapter of The Between series.
Thank you for dreaming—and for daring to walk the line between worlds with me.
